Exchange of Congratulatory Messages between the Foreign Ministers of Nepal and the Russian Federation

On the happy occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and the Russian Federation, congratulatory messages were exchanged between Hon. Mr Shisir Khanal, Minister for Foreign Affairs and H. E. Mr Sergey  Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation today.

Hon. Foreign Minister Khanal, in the message to his Russian counterpart, has extended sincere congratulations and best wishes to the Government and friendly people of the Russian Federation. He also expressed his willingness to work closely with Russia to further strengthen and broaden the bilateral engagements. He further underlined the need to chart out new avenues of cooperation that would further deepen and diversify the partnership in future.

Similarly, Foreign Minister H. E. Mr Lavrov, in his message to Hon. Mr Khanal, has extended sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He also expressed his willingness to work jointly to strengthen the enduring partnership for the mutual benefit of the peoples of the two countries.

The diplomatic relations between Nepal and the Russian Federation were established on 20 July 1956.
