Press Release on condolence messages sent on sinking of a cruise in the Yangtze River in China.

Rt. Hon’ble President Dr. Ram BaranYadav sent his condolence message to the President of the People’s Republic of China His Excellency Mr. Xi Jinping today for the loss of lives of several people and many other missing by capsizing a cruise ship in the Yangtze river in Hubei Province of China. In his message, President Yadav expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of those who have lost their loved ones.

 

Rt. Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr. SushilKoirala and Hon’ble Foreign Minister Mr. MahendraBahadurPandey also sent separate letters of condolences to their counterparts on the disaster occurred on 01 June 2015 due to sudden and strong storm.

 

In his message to His Excellency Mr. Li Keqiang, Prime Minister Mr. Koirala expressed his deep shock and sadness on sinking of the ship that claimed several precious lives with hundreds reported missing. “Our deep thoughts and prayers are with the passengers on board for their safety”, he mentioned.

 

The Foreign Minister Mr. Pandey also expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to His Excellency Mr. Wang Yi, and through him to the victims and the bereaved families as well as to the Government and the people of the People’s Republic of China. He further stated that the Government and people of Nepal stand together with the Government and people of China in these tragic circumstances.
