Rt. Hon. President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari and Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Mr. Sher Bahadur Deuba today sent separate message of condolences to His Excellency Mr. Md. Abdul Hamid, President, and Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, respectively on the loss of lives in southeast Bangladesh due to heavy monsoon rains and landslides in recent days.
In their messages, the Rt. Hon. President and the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister have, on behalf of the Government and people of Nepal as well as on their own, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended heartfelt condolences and sympathies to their respective Bangladeshi counterparts, and through them, to the Government and the friendly people of Bangladesh and the bereaved and affected families.
They have also wished speedy recovery of those injured in the disaster and early return of the situation to normalcy.
