Press Release issued by the Embassy of Nepal, Bangkok about the departure of the Rt. Hon. President from Bangkok for Colombo

Rt. Hon. President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari left Bangkok for Colombo this morning. The Rt. Hon. President was extended a warm farewell by the Representative of His Majesty the King of Thailand, H.E. Mr. Charunthada Karnasuta, Privy Councillor; Representative of the Royal Thai Government, H.E. Mr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Digital Economy and Society; and the Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. H. E. Dr. Khaga Nath Adhikari, Ambassador of Nepal, and other diplomats in the Embassy were also present at the airport to bid farewell to the Rt. Hon. President.

During a brief interaction at the airport, the Representative of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradevayavrangkun, conveyed to the Rt. Hon. President appreciation and thanks from His Majesty for visiting the Grand Palace and paying tribute to His late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The Rt. Hon. President conveyed, through the Representative of His Majesty the King, her sincere thanks to His Majesty the King for the warm welcome upon her arrival in, and departure from, Bangkok, and also for the special arrangements made in the Grand Palace for paying tribute to His late Majesty.

The Rt. Hon. President is accompanied by Hon. Mr. Keshav Kumar Budhathoki, accompanying Minister; Dr. Madan Kumar Bhattarai, Foreign Affairs Expert for the Rt. Hon. President; Foreign Secretary Mr. Shanker Das Bairagi; Mr. Bhupendra Prasad Paudel, Secretary, the Office of the President and other senior officials of the Government of Nepal.

The Rt. Hon. President had reached Bangkok yesterday, 12 May 2017.
