Travel Documents
The Ministry also issues Travel Documents to the following persons. The validity of such Travel Documents is generally for one year.
- Refugees residing in Nepal, on the recommendation of the Ministry of Home, for the period of one year to visit the specified country.
- Nepalese Children adopted by the foreigners on the recommendation of the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare of HMG/N to visit the country of their foster parents.
- Nepalese nationals kept in jail/custody, or stranded in foreign lands, who do not possess Passports, or have lost their passports and wish to return to Nepal can apply for travel document to the nearest Royal Nepalese Mission. In case there is not Royal Nepalese Mission in that country, family member of such Nepalese national may apply to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the travel document on the recommendation of the concerned District Administration Office/ Metropolitan/ Sub-Metropolitan City /Municipality/ Village Development Committee to be valid only for their return to Nepal.
