Political Relation
Diplomatic Relations
Nepal and Vietnam established diplomatic relations on 15 May 1975. Nepalese Embassy in Yangon is concurrently accredited to Vietnam and Embassy of Vietnam in Yangon is concurrently accredited to Nepal.
Bilateral Visit
A 6-Member Parliamentary delegation led by Mrs. Nguyen Thuy Anh, Member of the Vietnamese National Assembly and Vice Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee.
A 12-Member parliamentary delegation led by the H.E. Mr. Vu Mao, Member of Standing Committee and Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Relations of Vietnamese National Assembly, visited Nepal from 9-12 May 2007.
Economic Relations
Trade
Nepal imports paper, insecticides, wooden furniture, printing/phopocopy machine etc from Vietnam whereas exports meat, lences of glass etc. to Vietnam. According to the statistics of Trade and Export Promotion Centre, 2009/10, Nepal’s export to Vietnam stood at Rs.49,754,354 and imports amounted to Rs.281,436,077 for the fiscal year 2009/10 resulting Rs. 231,681,723 trade deficit against Nepal.
Investment
Vietnam has invested Rs. 24.60 Million in Nepal in two industries which helps to creat 55 jobs opportunities in Nepal.
