Political Relation
Diplomatic Relations
Nepal and Singapore established Diplomatic Relations on March 1969. Nepalese Embassy in Bangkok is concurrently accredited to Singapore and the Embassy of Singapore in New Delhi is concurrently accredited to Nepal. Nepal has an Honorary Consul General in Singapore.
Major Bilateral Visits
From Nepalese side:
Late King Birendra visited Singapore in 1980.
Former Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa visited the Prime Minister of Singapore in 2003 on his way to Maldives.
Former Foreign Minister Chakra Prasad Bastola also visited Singapore in 1995.
From Singapore side:
Former Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Kuan Yeo visited Nepal in 1980.
Foreign Minister Prof. S. Jayakumar visited Nepal in 1997.
Economic and Trade Relations
Trade
Imports to Singapore include dried peas, olive oil, sauses, polythelene etc. whereas exports include lentils, carpet, primary cells etc. The trade figures show that Nepal suffers huge trade deficit. The trade between Nepal and Singapore is as follows.

Investment
Singapore has made investment in tourism, service, manufacturing, energy based, agriculture sectors amounting Rs. 1505.39 million in 23 different industries with the generation of 1965 job opportunities in Nepalese market. The trend of foreign investment made by Singapore in Nepal is as follows:
