Political Relation
Historical Linkage
Age-old historical ties and Buddhism continues to bind our two peoples together. Both Nepal and Laos are landlocked and least developing countries. Both are member of NAM and deeply committed to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter.
Diplomatic Relations
Nepal and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic established diplomatic relations on 20 May 1960. Nepalese Embassy in Myanmar is concurrently accredited to Laos and the Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in New Delhi is accredited to Nepal.
Economic and Trade Relations
There is not much interaction between two countries in respect of trade, tourism and investment so far.
