Political Relation
Shared Commonality
Both Nepal and Cambodia are the members of the United Nations and the Non-aligned Movement. Both countries have been working together in different international forums for the common cause of the Least Developed Countries. Buddhism has become another strong link between the two countries as majority of the Cambodian people are Buddhist.
Diplomatic Relations
Nepal and Cambodia established diplomatic relations on 18 April 1975. Embassy of Nepal in Yangon in concurrently accredited to Cambodia. Embassy of Cambodia in New Delhi is concurrently accredited to Nepal.
Economic and Trade Relations
Trade
The volume of trade between the two countries is very small. Export to Cambodia is almost null in comparison to import. Trade statistics shows that Nepal’s export to Combodia amounts just Rs. 7,426 while the volume of imports is Rs.13,414,876 for the fiscal year 2009/10. (Foreign Trade Statistics, 2009/10, GON)
