Nepal-Chile Relations

Political Relations
Diplomatic relations between Nepal and Chile were established in 1962. Nepal and Chile have been enjoying good, friendly and cordial relations ever since the establishment of diplomatic relations. The Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations in New York is concurrently accredited to Chile. Likewise, Chilean Embassy in New Delhi is accredited to the Kingdom of Nepal. Chile also has an Honorary Consulate in Kathmandu.

Trade
Commercial relation between Nepal and Chile is very nominal. The following figures reflect Nepal’s exports to and imports from Chile during the past few years.

During the year 2001/2002, Nepal exported handbags, carpets, garments, silver jewellery, etc to Chile. Similarly, Nepal imported copper scrap from Chile during the same year.
